committed to treating children with disabilities. We are a group united by the moving realization that a lot needs to be done in India to help underprivileged children affected by limb and spine diseases and disability. Deepda Healthcare Trust is committed to finding best possible ways and means to help the children overcome these problems. Deepda in Sanskrit means ‘Giver of the Light’. The trust aims to bring rays of hope, joy, and recovery to children and adolescents whose lives have been otherwise blighted by disease, infirmity and overwhelming poverty. Deepda aims to treat disabled children with dignity that every child deserves, without compromising on the quality of care provided. Deepda aims to reduce disability amongst poverty-stricken children across India, thereby improving their ability to cope with life. Deepda is a registered charitable trust since Jan 2009.
Deepda is primarily dedicated to providing corrective surgery to needy children with physical deformity and disability. We aim to achieve this while maintaining the highest standards of inpatient and outpatient care that is available in India today. We are developing the necessary organizational structure of volunteers, so that they may provide healthcare and sustain the program in the coming years. We help in promoting specialized educational programs to medical and/or educational professionals in India to improve and expand their capabilities. This in turn will raise the standard of healthcare in both the public and private sector. Our aim is to improve the quality of life of children, families and communities in the territory of India.
Every child has the right to live a life free of deformity, disability and disease. No child, irrespective of their caste, creed or religion, should suffer for lack of medical help.

Gaurav was born in a Gurgaon Village with club foot deformity of both feet. Coming from a poor rural family, his mother reached us when he was 3 months old. We immediately started with what is now called ‘The Ponseti Treatment Program’. This latest revolutionary treatment for club feet was developed in Cincinnati, USA, and has been taught to pediatric orthopedic surgeons since the late 1990’s. He underwent a series of cast applications, and this was followed by surgery. Today Gaurav is walking and running around like any normal little boy. His mother is thankful for what Deepda and its sponsors have done for her – and is careful in bringing Gaurav to us once in 6 months.
